Frederic Lagarce received his Ph.D. degree in 2004. After a postdoctoral study in a European project (microparticles for brain delivery), he switched to the nanoworld and developed with his students paclitaxel in lipid nanocapsules for IV and oral routes. Lagarce became an Assistant Professor of pharmaceutical technology and biopharmaceutics in 2008 and a Full Professor in 2012. He is now still working to develop nanocapsules for the treatment of solid tumors for the oral, IV, and pulmonary routes. He is also part of the TRANS-INT European Project. Besides teaching and research, Dr. Lagarce is a Hospital Pharmacist involved in the quality control of injectable drugs. His main goal is to develop a new nanomedicine to overcome biological barriers. Being at the same time in the hospital and at the university, translational research in nanomedicine remains his main focus.
