Andrew James
Andrew James received his B.S. degree in horticulture from Wye College, University of London, London, UK in 1987. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in horticultural science from Wye College, University of London in 1993. He did his post-doctorate degree at the Department of Horticulture Scienec, University of Minnesota, Minn, USA from 1994 to 1995. Since 1996, James was working as a Plant Research Scientist at the Scientific Research Centre of Yucatan, Merida, Mexico. His research areas include banana, BAC/ BIBAC libraries of banana, the black Sigatoka pathogen, somatic embryogeneis and transformation of banana, indigenous Jatropha species for biodiesal production in Yucatan, mass propagation in vitro of commercial orchids for the Yucatan Peninsula, and application of iRNA technology for resistance gene identification in banana.
