Nicoletta Filigheddu was born in Torino, Italy (April 7, 1971). In 1997, she received an M.S. degree in physics from the University of Torino, Italy, and in 2005, a Ph.D. degree in molecular medicine from the University of Piemonte Orientale, Novara, Italy. From 1998 to 1999, Filigheddu was a Fellow at the Laboratory of Biochemistry (Professor Andrea Graziani) at the Department of Genetics, Biology and Biochemistry, University of Torino; from 1999 to 2000, she had an international training course at the Biological Research Center of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Szeged, Hungary; from 2001 to 2004, she was a Ph.D. Fellow at the University of Piemonte Orientale, Novara, Italy. From 2005 to 2007, Filigheddu was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Laboratory of Biochemistry, Department of Medical Sciences, University of Piemonte Orientale A. Avogadro, Novara; from 2006 to 2007, she was a Lecturer of chemistry and biochemistry basis at the School of Medicine of the University of Piemonte Orientale, Novara. Since 2007, Filigheddu has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, School of Medicine, University of Piemonte Orientale, Novara, and the Head of the Laboratory of Oncological Gynecology. She was awarded the Award of the Foundation for the Study of Endocrinological and Metabolic Diseases (1998-1999). Filigheddu is a Member of the Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
