The University of Nottingham, Malaysia

Krishnasamy T. Selvan was born in 1966. He received the B.E. (honours) degree from the Madurai Kamaraj University in 1987, the M.S. degree from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in 1996, and the Ph.D. (engineering) degree from the Jadavpur University in 2002. Since February 2005, he has been an Associate Professor in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus, Malaysia, where he teaches electromagnetics and related subjects. He also considers and tries approaches to blend engineering education with intellectual openness and ethics. Prior to joining Nottingham, from January 1988 to February 2005, Selvan was with the Society for Applied Microwave Electronic Engineering and Research, Centre for Electromagnetics, India. Here he was essentially involved in antenna analysis, design, and testing. In early 1994, he held a two-month UNDP Fellowship at the RFI Industries, Australia. During 1994–1997, he was the Principal Investigator of a collaborative research programme that SAMEER had with NIST, USA. Later he was the Project Manager/Leader of some successfully completed antenna development projects. He was the Secretary of Organising Committee of the International Conference on Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility 2003, held in cooperation with the IEEE EMC Society. Selvan's original contributions have been chiefly in the areas of rectangular waveguide antennas and antenna metrology. In these areas he has published a number of research papers in refereed journals. Selvan has been a reviewer for the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation. He is an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of RF and Microwave Computer-Aided Engineering and an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Antennas and Propagation. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
