Hua Xiang

Hua Xiang received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science from the Peking University, Beijing, China, in 1997 and 2000, respectively. Xiang obtained another M.S. degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Austin, TX, USA, in 2002, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana‐Champaign, Champaign, IL, USA, in 2004. Xiang currently works at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center as a Research Staff Member. Xiang was previously a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at Cadence Design Systems. Xiang’s main research interest is computer‐aided design for very‐large‐scale integration, primarily in the area of physical design, including routing, buffer planning, floor planning, and placement.
