Xian‐Xu Bai received his Doctor of Engineering degree in instrument science and technology from Chongqing University, Chongqing, China, in 2013. He is now an Assistant Professor with Hefei University of Technology, Hefei, China, and he is also a Member of ASME and SPIE. He has published 6 SCI journal papers and given 6 oral presentations in international conferences. In 2010, he won the Best Student Paper Award at Smart Materials, Adaptive Structures and Intelligent Systems (SMASIS 2010) held by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in Philadelphia, USA. His research interests focus on the magnetorheological damper/energy absorber for vibration and shock mitigation, energy harvesting based on smart materials and structures, and electric vehicles.
