Farahnaz Movahedzadeh received her B.S. degree in medical technology in 1985 and a general Doctoral degree in clinical laboratory sciences in 1992 from the Iran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. She then obtained a Ph.D. degree in microbiology/molecular biology from the University College London, UK, and the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR), UK, in 1997. Movahedzadeh is an author of several peer-reviewed manuscripts, chapters, and abstracts. She loves teaching and pursues this as a Tenured Faculty Member at the Harold Washington College. She has 17 years of experience on the molecular genetics of M. tuberculosis and actively pursues her research on essential genes as drug targets for tuberculosis at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Chicago, IL, USA.
