Fayez Sandouk was born in 1954 in Damascus, Syria. He received his M.D. degree in 1978 from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Aleppo, Aleppo, Syria. He received many certificates including Lower Cambridge Certificate in English language, Proficiency in English Language Certificate from British Cultural Center in Syria 1978, Certificate of German Language from Goethe institute von Damaskus 1986, Certificate of Specialty in Internal Medicine in 1984, and Certificate of Specialty in Gastroenterology in 1987 from Syria. He was the Chairman of Young Clinician Program in AMAGE (Africo_middle East Association of Gastroenterology) 2004 till now; Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians as from May 2008; Coordinator of OMED outreach DVD Program starting 2010; Auditor of Peptic Ulcer Chapter in (The Arabic Encyclopedia for Public Syria), 2007; and Auditor of diagnostic and therapeutic tools in Gastroenterology Chapter in (The Arabic Encyclopedia for general practitioners) Syria, 2008.
