Momiao Xiong was born in Nanchang , China in 1945. He finished his undergraduate study in Department of Computational Mathematics from Fudan University in Shanghai, China in 1968 and received the Ph. D degree from Department of Statistics at University of Georgia, U. S. in 1993. majoring in statistical genetics. From 1993 to 1995, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Computational Biology at the University of Southern California, a visiting Research Assistant Scientist at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor from 1995 to 1996 and a visiting Assistant Professor in the University of Minnesota in 1997. Recently, he is an Associate Professor, in Human Genetics Center at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He is mainly interested in deciphering the path from genomic information to complex phenotypes, genomic science, genetic and epigenetic studies of complex traits, biological networks, functional data analysis and computational systems biology.
