Richard Midford is an Associate Professor at Edith Cowan University, in Perth, Western Australia. He also holds an adjunct appointment as Associate Professor at the National Drug Research Institute and maintains a private practice with Perth Psychological Services, of which he is a director. He has a PhD in cognitive/neuropsychology and a Masters in clinical psychology. He is registered with the Psychologist Board of Australia with clinical practice endorsement and specialist clinical title. His academic research focuses on how alcohol and other drug harm prevention programs can be developed in partnership with local communities, prevention of alcohol and other drug harm in workplace settings and in the development of effective school drug education. He has published over 100 journal articles, monographs, books and book chapters on his work.
