Hosiberto B. De Sant’Ana completed his B.S. degree in chemical engineering at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Brazil in 1994. He earned his M.S. degree (1996) from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. Professor de Sant’Ana received a D.Eng. degree in chemistry in 2000 from Université Blaise Pascal/Institut Français du Pétrole, France, working on HPHT reservoir fluids, experimental measurements, and modeling. Professor de Sant’Ana began his academic career at the Federal University of Ceará as a Visiting Researcher from the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) in 2000. In 2002, he joined the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) as an Assistant Professor at Chemical Engineering Department. His research focuses on thermodynamics, with special emphasis on emulsions, petroleum fluids, supercritical fluids technology, and thermofluidynamics and equilibrium of biofuels systems. In addition, he currently serves as a Coordinator of the Human Resource Program of the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) at UFC. He is also a Coordinator of CAPES/BRAFITEC Program at UFC. Dr. de Sant’Ana authored over 25 papers in research journals, and he has won numerous awards including Prêmio Petrobras de Tecnologia (Petrobras Technology Prize).
