Stavros J. Hamodrakas
Stavros Hamodrakas received his B.S. degree from Physics Department of the University of Athens, Athens, Greece, in 1970, and his Ph.D. degree from the Astbury Department of Biophysics of the University of Leeds, Leeds, UK, in 1974. He is currently a Full Professor at the Department of Cell Biology and Biophysics, Faculty of Biology, University of Athens, Athens, Greece. He is also the General Director of a postgraduate program in bioinformatics. His research interests include structural and functional studies of insect chorion (eggshell) and insect cuticle, prediction of protein structure, function and interactions, relational and object-oriented protein databases, automatic analyses of genomes, study of fibrous and globular protein structure, function and interactions and studies of structure and self-assembly mechanisms of amyloids.
