User Biography : Prof Amedeo Lancia Amedeo Lancia obtained in 1979 a degree in chemical engineering at the University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy, under the advisory of Professor Leopoldo Massimilla. In 2004 he was a Full Professor for the SSD ING-IND/25 (e.g., I15C) “Unit Operation“ for the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Naples Federico II. In 2004 he worked as a Member of the Ph.D. Board for the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Naples Federico II. In 2009 he was the Professor of environmental chemical engineering for the Master in environmental engineering of the University of Naples Federico II. Results of the research activities were published in several prestigious international journals with peer-reviewed committee, and they were recognized both in the academic and industrial audience. The main research topics are fluidized bed reactor, heat transfer between immersed surface and fluidized bed, fluidized bed hydrodynamics, design and operation of equipments for emission control, desulphurization of gas streams from power plants, spray drying processes for acid gas abatement, removal of mercury by adsorption on granular solids, innovative techniques for submicron and nanometric particulate abatement, and adsorption of heavy metals and organic compounds in aqueous solutions.
