Susana Casal

Susana Casal was born in Porto, Portugal, where she first received her degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1996, and later a Ph. D degree in Nutrition and Food Chemistry (2004) with the development of several analytical methodologies for coffee quality and authenticity control. Presently, she is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy. Her main research interests are focused in separation sciences, with the development and improvement of analytical methodologies for food and biochemical analyses (SPE/SPME/HPLC/GC) with the purposes of quality, authenticity, and safety control. She is author/coauthor of more than 50 scientific papers and book chapters.
