Nikolai Tarkhanov

Nikolai Tarkhanov obtained Ph.D. degree from Ekaterinburg State University, Russia in 1983, and in 1991, he obtained a D.S. degree from S. L. Sobolev Institute of Mathematics, Novosibirsk, Russia. In 1999, he became a Professor at the Institute of Mathemaics, University of Potsdam, Germany. His areas of expertise revolve around overdetermined systems, elliptic theory, approximation, Cauchy problem, and analysis on manifolds with singularities, algebras of pseudodifferential operators, index theory, nonlinear analysis, and residue theory.
