Nirmal S. Mann

Nirmal Mann obtained his B.S. degree in biology and chemistry from Delhi University, India. He graduated from the Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, Panjab, India. He did his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at Northwestern University Medical Center, Chicago, Ill, USA, where he also obtained his M.S. degree in gastroenterology. Later in his career, he obtained a Ph.D. degree in nutrition and a D.S. degree in gastroenterology. He is certified as a Specialist and a Fellow in internal medicine and also in the subspecialty of gastroenterology by the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC). He has published more than 300 papers, book chapters, and abstracts in his specialty. Moreover, he has made 195 scientific presentations at the national and international levels. He has won the Outstanding Teaching Award three times. He has served as an editor, a coeditor, a referee, and a reviewer for many journals. He belongs to many prestigious scientific organizations. In 2007, he was honored by Am Coll of Physicians for being named Master—ACP (MACP). His present appointment is a Professor of medicine and gastroenterology at Davis College of Medicine, University of California, Sacramento, Calif, USA, a Senior Consultant in gastroenterology-hepatology, University of California Davis Medical Center (UCDMC), Sacramento, Calif, USA, and the Director of Gastroenterology-Hepatology, UCDMC-Folsom Campus, Folsom, Calif, USA.
