Claudia Slimings holds a Ph.D. degree (nee Thomas) and is a Senior Research Fellow at the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research, Perth, WA, Australia. She is an Epidemiologist with experience in both infectious and chronic disease epidemiology. She has a long-standing interest in clostridium difficile infection (the leading cause of diarrhoea in hospitalized patients) and worked for several years in London, UK, undertaking life-course research using the British birth cohort studies. Dr. Slimings has particular expertise in the analysis of epidemiological data.
