Jeng-Ren Duann is currently the Director of Biomedical Engineering Research Center and Associate Professor of Graduate Institute of Clinical and Medical Science at China Medical University, Taichung, Taiwan, and also Project Scientist in the Institute for Neural Computation at University of California San Diego, La Jolla, CA, USA. Duann obtained his Ph.D. degree in physics in 1999 and his main research interests focus on functional neuroimaging, such as electroencephalography (EEG) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), and neuroimage-based neural connectivity (e.g., diffusion tensor imaging or DTI) and their applications on cognitive neuroscience. In addition, due to the big-data characteristics associated with the functional neuroimaging data, Duann is also working on the field of machine learning, such as the algorithms for data mining and for functional neuroimaging data.
