Daniela Basso received her M.D. degree in molecular biology from the University of Padova, Padova, Italy. She also obtained gastroenterology endoscopy, digestive endoscopy, and clinical pathology fellowships from the same university. She is responsible for the Molecular Biology Section of the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University Hospital of Padova, Italy. Dr. Basso is one of the leading research experts in test selection for the diagnosis of celiac disease, pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, pathophysiology of pancreatic cancer-associated diabetes mellitus, H. pylori infection, host genetic interactions, and tumor-stromal interactions. She participated in several national and European review committees and projects in the gastroenterology field.
