Songdong Shao

Songdong Shao works as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Engineering, Design and Technology at the University of Bradford, Bradford, UK. Before joining Bradford in September 2006, he had been working as a Researcher at the University of Hong Kong, University of Plymouth, Kyoto University, Nanyang Technological University, and Beijing Forestry University. He served as an Associate Professor at the North China Electric Power University. He obtained the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Tsinghua University, China, in 1992 and 1998. His research field is related to the hydraulics and hydrodynamics, coastal engineering, fluid-structure interactions, multifluid flows, and CFD models. He has been doing SPH modelling for more than ten years and published many quality papers in international journals for different aspects of the free-surface flows and is internationally recognized in this field. He has also established a strong link with many international collaborators and secured funding from the Royal Society, Royal Academy of Engineering, EU, and overseas research councils aiming to carry out the world leading research. He currently also serves as an Editorial Board Member of the Coastal Engineering Journal JSCE and The Scientific World Journal.
