Amalia Cecilia Bruni was Clinical assistance from 1980 to 1995 at the Department of Neurology (Pugliese Hospital in Catanzaro); Director of the Regional Neurogenetic Center- Lamezia Terme, Italy from 1996 to present. Her scientific activity has been awarded very frequently. She was fellow of the French Foundation for Alzheimer’s Research Fellowship in Los Angeles (1986-1988). Member of the Scientific Board for Historical Demography at the University of Cosenza; Member of the Scientific Board at the Department of Cellular Biology (University of Cosenza) for PhD in Biomolecular Pathology. Member of National Minister of Health Commission on Alzheimer’s Disease (2002). Member of the Expert Panel on Alzheimer’s Disease of Alzheimer Europe. President of the regional section of Italian Psychogeriatric Association - Elected Member of the Scientific Committee of Italian Neurological Society –Dementia Group (SINdem). Her studies have been based on neurodegenerative and genetic diseases of calabrian populations. Her research was focused firstly on early onset familial Alzheimer’s disease (FAD), successively on other neurological dementing disorders (Frontotemporal dementia - other dementia) and psychiatric hereditary diseases (MDI). She coordinated various projects on Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias of the Italian National Research Council (CNR), Telethon Foundation, Max Planck Institute of Rostok (Germany), National Minister of Health, Industries, Regional Health Service of Calabria Region. She maintains several national and foreigners collaborations with research and University Centres. She published papers in national and international peer reviewed journals, (101); Abstracts (194), presented posters at national and international conferences (97), and made communication and Lectures at national and international conferences (117).
