Josef Diblík

Josef Diblík studied mathematics and mechanics at Odessa State University, Odessa, Ukraine. His Ph.D. thesis, in 1979 in the same university, was concerned with asymptotics of solutions of ordinary differential equations. Since 1995, he has been working as a Full Professor of mathematical analysis at the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University, Brno. Since 2000, he has been serving as a D.S. for mathematical analysis at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague. He occupies (or occupied) the position of a Professor (or a Visiting Professor) at Brno University of Technology (Czech Republic), Technical University Dresden (Germany), Alpen Adria University Klagenfurt (Austria), Poznan University of Technology (Poland), and Žilina University (Slovak Republic). His present research focuses on the qualitative and quantitative properties of solutions of differential and difference equations (more than 100 research papers). For his outstanding results in mathematics, he was awarded a Memory Medal in Kiev, in 2009.
