Dmitry Samsonov was born in Moscow, Russia in 1966. He received an M.S. degree in experimental nuclear physics from the Engineering Physics Institute, Moscow in 1989, a Graduate Research Certificate in electrical and electronic engineering from Kyoto University in 1995, and a Ph.D. degree in physics from the Department of Physics and Astronomy from the University of Iowa, Iowa city, in 1999. Samsonov worked as a Research Scientist at Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics, Garching, Germany. At present, he is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics at the University of Liverpool. He is a Member of IOP and a Reviewer for over 10 scientific journals. His main research interests are in the field of complex plasmas.
