Edgardo E. Guibert serves as an Assistant Professor of molecular biology at the Department of Biological Sciences, National University of Rosario, Argentina. He has been serving as a Professor in UNESCO Chair of Cryobiology since 2005. He has been serving as an Editorial Board Member of CryoLetters (since 2010), and he had been an Editorial Board Member of Annals of Hepatology (2008–2010). He has been a leader and lecturer of molecular biology of gene regulation in the regular courses, a director for postgraduate students for Ph.D. students and under graduate students, and a Supervisor of Ph.D. studies. His research is into low-temperature preservation of cells, tissues, and organs for preclinical applications; studies on fundamental cryobiology; cryopreservation of liver cell for hepatic support; effects of ischaemia/reperfusion injury in hepatic surgery; cryopreservation of neural stem cells in tissue engineering and cell transplant; as well as gene expression and regulation related to cold temperatures, influences of bioactive gases: CO and H2S.
