Mathew D. Halls is the Director of Materials Science at Schrödinger, Inc. and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas, Tex, USA. Prior to joining Schrödinger, he was a Senior Scientist at Materials Design, Inc. and Accelrys, Inc. Before that, he held the prestigious E.R. Davidson Fellowship in theoretical chemistry at the Indiana University and earlier was the Manager of the Scientific Simulation and Modeling Group at Zyvex Corporation. Dr. Halls is a trusted advisor on the use of atomic-scale material modeling techniques for clients in diverse industries including aerospace, electronics, and specialty chemicals. His personal research focuses on using simulation to analyze and optimize material systems for applications such as atomic layer deposition (ALD), organic semiconductors (OLED/OPV), and Li-ion batteries. He has over 45 journal publications, serves as a Guest Editor for the journal Molecular Simulation, and has given multiple invited talks. He is a Member of numerous professional organizations including APS, MRS, ACS, and AAAS.
