Christian Apitz serves as a Consultant of pediatric cardiology and cardiac intensive care medicine at the Pediatric Heart Centre at the University of Giessen, and he is responsible for the Pulmonary Hypertension Service. He received his Medical degree from the University of Göttingen, Germany, and completed his Residency at the University of Würzburg, Germany, and his Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Tübingen, Germany, followed by a Clinical Research Fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children at the University of Toronto, Canada. Apitz‘s main clinical and research interests are in the diagnosis and treatment of the diseases of the right ventricle and pulmonary vasculature. He is one of the leading research experts in functional assessment of right ventricular function by conductance catheter technique.
