María Isabel Núñez

María Isabel Núñez was born in Castellar (Jaen), Spain, in 1966. She received the Biology degree and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Granada (UGR), Spain, in 1989 and 1994, respectively. Since 1990, María Isabel Núñez is with the Radiobiology Laboratory of UGR. In 1991, she was a Research Fellow from the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science in the Department of Radiology and Medical Physic at the University of Granada. From 1995 to 2002, she was a Research Fellow from the Fundación benéfica anticancer San Francisco Javier y Santa Cándida (UGR) and from the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (Madrid), respectively. Presently, she is a Senior Lecturer (UGR). Núñez's research focuses on Radiobiology. She is mainly interested in cancer biology, tumour microenvironment, and epigenetic modifications in combination with ionizing radiation for breast cancer.
