Anthony A. Attama
Anthony A. Attama works as the Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics and the Deputy Director of the Education Innovation Unit, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria. Attama obtained his B.A. degree in pharmacy in 1994, his M.S. degree in pharmacy in 1998, and his Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutics in 2002, all from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria. His research interests include the development and formulation of novel delivery systems of bioactive agents for the control of tropical diseases, the pharmaceutical raw materials development, and the quality control of pharmaceuticals, in addition to applications of in vivo, ex vivo, and bioengineered systems to study biopharmaceutical properties of novel drug formulations such as micro/nanosystems. He has received many international research grants and awards from major funding bodies such as the International Foundation for Science (IFS) and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH). Attama has coauthored many books, contributed to many international book chapters, and has many articles published in peer-reviewed journals. He has, furthermore, attended many conferences and fostered the establishment of some pharmaceutical industries in Nigeria.
