Terry M. Bricker was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1953. He received his Ph.D. degree in botany from Miami University, Ohio, USA, in 1981. He is currently the Moreland Family Professor of Basic Sciences and is a Full Professor within the Department of Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University. Professor Bricker’s research program has centered on the elucidation of protein-protein and protein-cofactor interactions in membrane protein complexes. His specific interest is the examination of interactions between the extrinsic and intrinsic membrane proteins associated with higher plant and cyanobacterial photosystem II. He is also interested in the role of the extrinsic proteins in maintaining calcium and chloride at optimal concentrations within the active site of the photosystem. He has published more than seventy papers in these areas. Professor Bricker has served on numerous advisory panels for United States federal funding agencies and has served on the Editorial Board of Plant Physiology and is an Associate Editor for Photosynthesis Research. He has been an invited speaker and discussion leader at the Gordon Research Conference, “Photosynthesis-Biochemical Aspects” and has presented invited presentations at other numerous national and international venues.
