Xiaoqiang Yao
Xiaoqiang Yao obtained his Ph.D. degree in cell physiology from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, Buffalo, NY, USA. He serves as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Department of Internal Medicine, Yale School of Medicine, New Haven, Conn, USA. He has occupied the post of a full Professor at the School of Biomedical Sciences, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, China, since 2002. His research interests mainly focus on ion channels, especially Ca2+-permeable channel in cardiovascular systems. His specialties include molecular biology, electrophysiology (patch clamp and sharp electrode recording), and Ca2+ signaling. Dr. Yao has been one of the leading scientists in the fields of endothelial Ca2+ signaling. He has published more than 5 book chapters, 20 review papers, and more than 140 original research articles.
