José F. Cariñena Marzo

José F. Cariñena Marzo was born in Zaragoza (Spain) in 1945, and he received the M.A. degree in physics in 1967 and in mathematics in 1970 from Zaragoza University and obtained in 1972 his Ph.D. degree cum laude from Valladolid University under the supervision of Luis J. Boya. Since 1993, he serves as a Full Professor of theoretical physics at the University of Zaragoza, Spain, where he is heading a research team working in the area of geometry, mechanics, and control, mathematical foundations of quantum mechanics, and the interface of mathematics and particle physics. He is a Member of several professional societies and was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Sciences of Zaragoza in February 2001. He serves as a Referee of many international journals of physics and mathematics and has been a Chairman or a Member of the organizing committees of several international scientific meetings.
