Raymond Yung received his medical degree from the University of Liverpool, England, in 1986. After his Internal Medicine Residency at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, he completed subspecialty Fellowship training in Rheumatology and Geriatric Medicine in 1994 and 1997, respectively, both at the University of Michigan in the United States. He is currently Professor of Medicine at the University of Michigan, and Associate Director/Research of the Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center at the Veteran Administration Ann Arbor Health Care System. In 1995, he received the American College of Rheumatology Senior Rheumatology Scholar Award. In 1998 he was a recipient of the American Federation for Aging Research Paul Beeson Physician Faculty Scholar in Aging Research Award. His research interests include the mechanisms of drug-induced autoimmunity, the effects of aging on T cell and dendritic cell functions, and the role that epigenetics plays in aging and autoimmunity.
