Sharad S. Singhal

Sharad S. Singhal was born in Agra, India, in 1963, where he received his B.S. degree in 1982 and M.S. degree in 1984, from Agra University, Agra, India, and Ph.D. degree in 1989, from Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow, India, and moved to the USA in 1989. He was trained as a Postdoctoral Fellow (1989–1993) with Professor Yogesh Awasthi, at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Tex, USA, where he was an Assistant Professor (1996–1999). He joined the University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, Tex, USA, in 1999, where he was a Research Associate Professor. After that, he joined the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Fort Worth, Tex, USA, as an Associate Professor in 2007. His current research interests are in glutathione metabolism and its role in stress-defense, carcinogenesis, drug-resistance, radiation-resistance, and cell-signaling mechanisms. His research objectives and expertise are in multidrug resistance in cancer, role of non-ABC drug transporter, RLIP76, stress signaling and oxidative stress, radiation poisoning and liposomal delivery, and syngeneic and xenografts model. He has published more than 125 peer-reviewed research articles in these and related areas.
