Irina Erchova

Irina Erchova was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. She received an M.S. degree in electrical engineering (1993, diploma with distinction) from St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University in Russia and a Ph.D. degree in cognitive neuroscience (2001, cum laude) from the School of Advanced Studies in Trieste (Italy). At present, Erchova is a Researcher at the School of Optometry and Visual Science in Cardiff University. Previously, she was a Personal Royal Society of Edinburgh Research Fellow in ageing at the University of Edinburgh and a Humboldt Fellow at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Her main interests are in optophysiology, cellular basis of brain plasticity, and computation models of brain activity.
