Vita Dolzan received her M.D. degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 1989, followed by M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in biochemistry and molecular biology in 1994 and 1997, respectively. She worked at the Division of Molecular Toxicology, Institute of Environmental Medicine, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden, with Prof. Magnus Ingelman-Sundberg as a Postdoctoral Fellow from February 2000 to March 2001, and as a Visiting Scientist (FEBS short-term fellowship) from November to December 2003. She has been an Assistant Professor of biochemistry and molecular biology, Institute of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana since 2002, and Associate Professor since 2007. She has vast research experience in the field of pharmacogenetics and implementation of novel molecular biology-based methods in the clinical use and published over 30 SCI indexed papers in her areas of expertise.
