Alessandro Piva
Alessandro Piva graduated cum laude in electronic engineering from University of Florence in 1995. He obtained the Ph.D. degree in computer science and telecommunications engineering from the University of Florence in February 1999. From July 2002 until July 2004, he was a Research Scientist at the National Inter-University Consortium for Telecommunications (CNIT). He is at present an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Florence.
His research activity has been developed in the framework of both Italian national projects, as well as projects funded by the European community. His main research interests are technologies for multimedia content security (with particular reference to digital watermarking techniques); image processing techniques for cultural heritage applications; video processing techniques; multimedia applications in the cultural heritage field. He is coauthor of more than 90 papers published in international journals and conference proceedings. He holds 3 Italian patents and one international patent regarding digital watermarking techniques.
