George Griffing is currently a Professor of medicine and member of the internal medicine faculty at Saint Louis University. His specialty is internal medicine, and his subspecialty is endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. He has board certification in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. He attended the Wayne State University School of Medicine and graduated in 1975. His internship, residency, and chief residency were at the Faulkner Hospital in Boston from 1975 through 1978. His endocrinology fellowship was at Boston City Hospital, Boston, graduating in 1980. He was an Instructor, an Assistant, and an Associate Professor of medicine at Boston University Medical Center until 1992. He then became a Professor of medicine, the Chief of endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, and the Director of the Cosmopolitan International Diabetes Center at the University of Missouri-Columbia until 1999. From 1999 until 2006, he served as the Director of General Internal Medicine at Saint Louis University.
