Shilin Chen

Shilin Chen is the Director of the Institute of Chinese Materia Medica, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, China, and the Director of the WHO Collaborating Center for Traditional Medicine. Besides, he is working as the Director of Engineering Research Center of Chinese Traditional Medicine Resources, Ministry of Education. Professor CHEN obtained his Ph.D. degree from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chengdu, China, and he has been the Visiting Professor in Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. Having been trained in Royal Botanic Garden, Kews, London, UK, Prof. CHEN is concurrently acting as the secretary of the GAP Association of Chinese Medicinal Material. He holds a concurrent position as the Editor of such reputed Chinese medicinal research journals as China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica, Chinese Medicines, Journal of Chinese Pharmaceutical Science, Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs, World Sciences and Technology, and so on. He has published so far more than 300 scientific papers and a few books. His research interests lie in the development and utilization of medicinal plant resources.
