Thomas M. Yankee received his D.pharm. degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (Chicago, IL, USA) in 1995 and his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN, USA) in 1999. His postdoctoral training was completed in the Department of Immunology at the University of Washington (Seattle, WA, USA). In 2005, he began his career as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Molecular Genetics, and Immunology at the University of Kansas Medical Center (Kansas City, KS, USA), and now he holds the rank of Associate Professor. His primary research interests focus on the signaling pathways that maintain homeostasis of the naïve T-cell populations. These studies include investigations into T-cell development, activation, and differentiation.
