Enrique Fernández-Cara
Enrique Fernández-Cara was born in Cadiz, Spain in 1957. He received a Ph.D. degree from the University of Sevilla, Sevilla, Spain and the University Paris 6, France in 1981. He has been a Professor at the University of Sevilla since 1982. Professor Fernández-Cara has been an advisor of 10 Ph.D. theses, Lead Researcher of several projects of the National Program in Spain, and author of more than 100 research papers since 1985. He has also been an Associate Editor of several journals since 1997. He was Secretary (1997 1998) and then President (1999 2000) of the Spanish Society of Applied Mathematics, and was responsible for the National Program in Mathematics from 2005 to 2008. His research interests include theoretical and numerical analysis of partial differential equations, control of differential systems, and applications in mechanics and biology.
