Selma Ugurel

S. Ugurel received his M.D. degree from the Medical School, Heinrich Heine University of Düsseldorf, Germany in 1996. He passed the United States Medical Licensing Examination Steps 1 and 2 in the same year and passed the Final Medical Board Examination in 1997. He was a Resident at the Department of Dermatology and a Research Fellow at the Workgroup Tumor Immunology at The Saarland University Hospital, Homburg/Saar, Germany, from 1997 till 2002. In 1997, he became a Research Fellow at the Institute for Tumor Genetics and Cellular Biology, University Hospital Cologne. In 2002, he obtained Board Certification in dermatology and venereology. From 2002 till 2007, Dr. Ugurel worked as a Consultant at the Department of Dermatology, University Hospital Mannheim, Germany, an Assistant Professor at the Skin Cancer Unit German Cancer Research Center Heidelberg, and a Leader of the Workgroup Experimental Therapy and Prognostic Biomarkers. Moreover, he received the Board Certification in medical treatment of cancer and allergology in 2006 and 2007, respectively. In 2007, he became an Assistant Professor of dermatology and venereology, University Hospital Mannheim. Since April 2007, Dr. Ugurel is working as a Consultant and Assistant Professor at the Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology Julius-Maximilians-University, Würzburg, Germany.
