Martin Ebner serves currently as Head of the team of social learning at Graz University of Technology. He is responsible for all e-learning activities of this university. His research focuses strongly on the use of Web 2.0 technologies for teaching and learning purposes. He has delivered a number of lectures and held a number of seminars around the topic of e-learning and the use of computers in educational settings. He studied from 1995 to 2000 civil engineering and got his Master degree from the Institute of Structural Concrete. Afterwards, Dr. Ebner worked as a Scientific Assistant at the Institute of Structural Concrete and wrote his Ph.D. thesis about “e-Learning in Structural Engineering”. In 2005, he obtained a Ph.D. degree in technical sciences from Graz University of Technology. From 2005 to 2006, he worked at the Institute for Building Informatics as an Assistant Professor. Since September 2006, he is serving as Head of the team of social learning at the Computing and Information Service Department and as a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Information Systems and Computer Media. In 2010, he did his habilitation on the “Influence of Web 2.0 Technologies on Technology Enhanced Learning” and became an Associate Professor at Graz University of Technology.
