José F. Bartolomé

José F. Bartolomé is Scientist at the Department of Biomaterials and Bioinspired Materials at the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), Spain. Dr. Bartolomé received his B.S. degree in geology in 1992 from the Complutense University of Madrid and the Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the Autonomous University of Madrid in 1997. He has worked as a Visiting Researcher at the Queen Mary, University of London (UK), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, University of California (USA), and INSA Lyon (France). His current research interests include micro- and nanoscale tailoring of structural ceramic and ceramic-metal composites, focusing on microstructure-processing-properties relations, including materials that offer promising applications in the creation of novel biomaterials, improving their durability and safety. He has published more than 40 papers in international scientific journals.
