Xijun Hu

Xijun Hu received his B.S. degree in 1982 from South China University of Technology and the Ph.D. degree in 1993 from the University of Queensland, Australia, both in chemical engineering. Professor Hu joined the Department of Chemical Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, in 1994. In addition to the Editorial board of Research Letters in Chemical Engineering, Professor Hu is an Associate Editor of two other journals. He has edited 1 book, published over 90 technical articles, and presented 60 conference papers. He also has 3 patents. Professor Hu has been active in international conferences. He was the secretariat of 17th International Symposium on Chemical Reaction Engineering (ISCRE 17, 2002), technical chairman of 3rd Asia Pacific Conference on Sustainable Energy and Environmental Technologies (2000), scientific advisory committee member of 9th International Conference on Fundamentals of Adsorption (2007), and 2nd Pacific Basin Conference on Adsorption Science and Technology (2000), International advisory board of the 6th (2007), and 4th (2003) Asia Pacific Conference on Sustainable Energy and Environmental Technologies. Professor Hu’s research interests include development of novel heterogeneous catalysts by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and their applications in air pollution control and wastewater treatment, multicomponent adsorption equilibrium and kinetics in heterogeneous porous media, characterization of microporous solids, fabrication of mesostructured crystals for electrical and optical applications.
