Xijun Hu received the B.S. degree in 1982 from South China University of Technology and the Ph.D. degree in 1993 from the University of Queensland, Australia, both in chemical engineering. He joined the Department of Chemical Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 1994. In additional to the editorial board of Research Letters in Chemical Engineering, he works as an Associate Editor of two other journals. He has edited 1 book, published over 90 technical articles, and presented 60 conference papers. He also has 3 patents. He has been active in international conferences. His research interests include development of novel heterogeneous catalysts by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and their applications in air pollution control and wastewater treatment, multicomponent adsorption equilibrium and kinetics in heterogeneous porous media, characterization of microporous solids, and fabrication of mesostructured crystals for electrical and optical applications.
