Gloria Menegaz

Gloria Menegaz was born in Verbania, Italy. She obtained the M.S. degree in electronic engineering and the M.S. degree in information technology from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1993 and 1995, respectively. In 2000, she got the Ph.D. degree in applied sciences from the Signal Processing Institute of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL). From 2000 to 2002 she was a Research Associate at the Audiovisual Communications Laboratory of EPFL, and from 2002 to 2004 she was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). From 2004 to 2007 she was with the Information Engineering Department of the University of Siena, Italy, as Adjunct Professor thanks to a grant funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (Rientro dei Cervelli). Since October 2007 she is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Verona, Italy. Her research field is perception-based image processing for multimedia applications. Among the main themes are color perception and categorization, medical image processing and perception, texture vision and modeling, and multidimensional model-based coding.
