Marian Valko

Marian Valko was born in Bratislava, former Czechoslovakia and received his master's degree from Slovak Polytechnic Institute in 1987. He earned Ph.D. from Slovak Technical University in 1991. He started his academic career in 1991 at Slovak Technical University in Bratislava as an Assistant Professor and eventually Associate Professor (in 1999 with tenure). Since 2010 he is Professor of Physical Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology. He was a Postdoctoral Research Associate (1991-1992) at the Liverpool Polytechnic and a Royal Society visiting scientist (1994-1995) at Liverpool John Moores University. Marian has co-authored more than 100 articles in peer reviewed journals and co-authored several book chapters (Wiley-Blackwell, Springer and American Chemical Society). His papers have been cited more than 5000 times according to Web of Science (Thomson Reuter's data). He is an associate editor of Chemical Papers (Versita, Springer).
