Hamid Reza Karim received the B.S. degree in power systems engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 1998 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees both in control systems engineering from the University of Tehran, tehran, Iran, in 2001 and 2005, respectively. He is currently a Professor in control systems at the Faculty of Engineering and Science, The University of Agder, Kristiansand, Norway. His research interests are in the areas of nonlinear systems, networked control systems, robust control/filter design, and wavelets and vibration control with an emphasis on applications in engineering. Dr. Karimi is a Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and serves as Chairman of the IEEE Chapter on Control Systems at IEEE Norway Section. He is also serving as an Editorial Board Member for some international journals, such as Mechatronics, Information Sciences, Neurocomputing, Asian Journal of Control, Journal of The Franklin Institute, and so on. Dr. Karimi is a Member of IEEE Technical Committee on Systems with Uncertainty, IFAC Technical Committee on Robust Control, and IFAC Technical Committee on Automotive Control.
