Marlies Ostermann serves as a Consultant in Critical Care & Nephrology at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation Trust, London, UK, and Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London, London, UK. After graduating from a medical school in Goettingen (Germany), she completed her postgraduate training in London and Canada. She holds a Ph.D. degree from the University of Goettingen (Goettingen, Germany), an M.D. degree from the University of London (London, UK), and a postgraduate diploma in medical education. Ostermann is an Active Member of the European Society of Intensive Care Society, Renal Association, and Intensive Care Society (UK), and she serves as a Fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine. She is also a cofounder of the London AKI Network. Her research interests include acute kidney injury in critically ill patients and all aspects of renal replacement therapy.
