Jianbang Gan is a Professor of forest economics and management, jointly appointed at the Departments of Ecosystem Science and Management and Agricultural Economics at the Texas A&M University, Tex, USA. He obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Iowa State University, Iowa, USA. His current research centers on the economics of bioenergy, natural and human disturbances including climate change, wildfire, pest infestation, and invasion of alien species as related to forest resource management/conservation. He is also keen in issues related to forest product trade, international forestry, and socially or economically disadvantaged forestland owners. Additionally, he has some research experience in sustainable forest management in Africa and Asia. In addition, he is an Associate Editor of the Canadian Journal of Forest Research and the Southern Journal of Applied Forestry.
